Dr. Fleniken, assessment plans for teacher education
Everyone is struggling, not just us.
Meeting needed for assessment plan.
We have not gone all the way on performance assessment.
We have to look for evidence that our students make a difference when they are teaching in the classroom.
Our focus is going to be in how we model those processes of teaching and assessments.
We are looking at where teaching and learning intersect.
NCATE 2000 - a radical change in internal peer review. The faculty should present evidence that learning is taking place in classes.
Peer review process in place by the next 9 months.
Modeling by faculty, validation of student learning by peer review.
Assessment process -- student work samples.
Request - January 12, 2000 - group to work in curriculum teams. Curriculum designs, assessments, and assessment plans. Work day for Russellville only. Ft. Smith starts on the 10th.

These programs will be phased in. Not implemented immediately.
National Board Certification - possible qualifications for portfolio.
Instructional Technology, Special Education, National Board Certification, School counseling, Educational Leadership

Look at developing alternative standards based program with supervision in the fall. Content in the summer.
Consideration is asked for the ideas.

Annual allotment has stayed stable over a near ten year period for books and journals.

Connie Zimmer - Faculty Benefits
The minigrant is still viable. The grants are for postage and other matters.
Sabbatical committee is set up.
Insurance - end of year is renegotiation period for the upcoming three-year period.
