Academic distress watch list
Purpose of the list is under Act 915.
The districts have 50% or more scoring below 25% on the sat 9.
Watch list -40-49% score below the 25th percentile.
They all have teachers not qualified to teach in the area they are not certified.

Phase III is a potential state takeover of a district.

Alternative certification programs were discussed.
Higher education report cards were discussed.
Data reflected for TECH  should reflect TECH students only.
We should monitor alternative certification programs and issues closely.

Ed.S. in educational leadership proposed.
Graduate work is targeted for the summer.
Letters will be going to FIPSE on Friday for a proposal possibility.

Much work needed to happen.
Dr. Fleniken was pleased with the end report of the NCATE committee.  Final report due soon.
Unit assessment report coming down the pike.
Graduate programs are beginning to have an impact. Students have done well on assessment.
Leadership will be the cornerstone of graduate programs.
Alternative certification through the CLL?
Regional institutions dealing with problems in their area.
How to work with alternative certification to TECH's best advantage?

Gwen - Positioning of having to pass the PLT . Nontraditional can enter the classroom and not have passed the PLT.

We need to be sure to advise students to take the PLT to take the test in the appropriate year.
