PATHWISE Training
As
you know, the School of Education at Arkansas Tech University has aligned the
teacher preparation programs in Early Childhood, Middle Childhood and Secondary
Education to the PATHWISE/Praxis III.
This has helped teacher candidates to prepare to be mentored in their
first year of teaching and to attempt the Praxis III for standard
licensure. PATHWISE training prepares
teachers in the schools to be focused, supportive and skilled mentors to
interning teacher candidates and to first year teachers. I have attached a flier and registration form
for the upcoming PATHWISE Training. Feel
free to send as many of your faculty and/or administration as you would
like. We invite all classroom teachers
interested in mentoring interns or first-year teachers to attend, particularly
those currently working with an intern or who would like to mentor an intern in
the future. We can accommodate a total
of 30 participants. I will need a list
of those who will attend as soon as possible so that I can finalize
arrangements for materials and lunch.
The School of Education will pay the cost of substitutes needed to
release classroom teachers for this training.
The School of Education can, also, reimburse travel to those
participants outside of Russellville who submit appropriate paper work by
September1.
