evidence for level of achievement of standards with particular emphasis on
the candidate’s dispositions and oral language. Candidates explore where they’re going and why (e.g., what is the
connection of major assignments, performance tasks, and the criteria by which
the work will be judged to licensure standards for beginning teachers). Candidates are
engaged in digging more deeply into the core values (through inquiry,
research, problem solving, and experimentation). Candidates receive
explicit instruction on the knowledge and skills needed to equip them for the
required performances. Candidates have opportunities
to rehearse, revise and refine their work based on feedback and
self-assessment. Candidates are
able to exhibit their understanding through final performances and products. Candidates
self-assess, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their work and
setting goals for the further achievement of excellence in teaching. |
