Maintains a filing system and database to monitor progress in professional programs of all Early Childhood, Middle Level and Secondary Education students, active and inactive.

There will be a student folder containing current and accurate information for 100% of the education majors enrolled in a professional education program at Arkansas Tech.

Inactive students and students who have changed their major will be identified.  Students enrolled but having no folder will be identified and folders made or requested from the advising center, registrar’s office or the office of a previous major.  Advisors will be assigned for ECED and MLED majors entering the School of Education.

An annual check of folders on file for SEED majors with a date of four years or older or not having applied for Stage II to date will be completed.  A determination will be made whether to keep each in active or move them to inactive files.  Reasons for inactive status identified include a) graduated, b) changed major and c) dropped out of school.

100% of students enrolled in Stage II/Phase II courses will have an approved Stage II/Phase II application on file in the office of Director Teacher Education Student Services.

Students purged from the rolls and their advisors will be notified and provided necessary information for continued progress toward accomplishment of performance standards.

100% of Internship applications have been invited, received and processed prior to the first day of classes of each semester.

Applications of intention will be used to initiate distribution and requests for placement in partner schools.  All applications will be approved or denied with the close of the semester prior to internship.

Receive requests, place, verify and administer evaluation of select field experiences in ECED, MLED and SEED programs.

100% of students enrolled in SEED 2002, SEED 3554, SEED 4556, ECED 2002, ECED 3053, MLED 2001, MLED 3023, MLED 3071, MLED 3092 and MLED 4023 have been placed for appropriate field experience by the 6th week of classes.

Information received through contacts with partner schools in requesting field placements will be used to improve working relationships (e.g. updating contact files; establishing the most efficient technology tool for communication).  A database of the utilization of partner schools in the service area will be updated to describe, assess and refine the field placement process.  Information will be shared with faculty, department head and dean for continued expansion, refinement and development of partnerships to enhance preparation of teacher candidates and improve school performance.  Appropriate data files will also be sent to the NCATE electronic folio.  Use of technology to improve communication and the efficiency of placement will be reevaluated to insure compatibility between university and field systems.

100% of students placed in field experiences have been verified and evaluations of performance have been sent to supervising teachers by the 11th week of classes.

Continued monitoring will inform process.  Changes in procedure may be indicated to improve the process.
