1.  To ensure that the professional education curriculum prepares teacher candidates to teach all students in the PK-12 school

1a.  Analysis of Praxis II specialty area assessments.  Programs will analyze data and make program changes based on data analysis.  Teacher candidate pass rate will be 98 percent on the first attempt.

 

1b.  Analysis of Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching pedagogical assessment.  Program change will be made based upon data analysis.  Teacher candidate pass rate will be 98 percent on the first attempt.

 

1c.  Analysis of Exit Portfolio summative data.  Program changes will be made upon data analysis.  Ninety eight (98) percent of teacher candidates will score a minimum of 2.0 on the first scoring.

 

1d.  Analysis of survey data to graduates who are first year teachers employed in Arkansas and to their employing principals.  Program changes will be made based upon data analysis

 

1e.  Analysis of Praxis III data supplied by the Arkansas Department of Education.  Ninety eight (98) percent will receive a passing score on the first assessment. (Begin in 2003)

2.  To ensure that department heads and faculty members in the School of Education receive information relative to their assignments and teaching duties in a timely fashion.

2a.  Email pertinent information and reminders to faculty within 24 hours after it becomes available.  Dean and/or dean’s secretary will keep a log of information sent and date sent.

 

2b.  A log of incidents resulting from information/communication problems will be kept and analyzed.  Procedures will be revised as data indicates.  The success measure will be no more than zero incidents per month.

 

2c.  The School Leadership Team will meet every two weeks as documented by agendas and meeting minutes.

 

2d.  Email agenda teams/proceedings of Deans Council to Leadership Team biweekly as indicated by email log.

 

2e.  Send a representative to Deans Council when dean is unable to attend.
