Graduates completing the graduate program will be well prepared for their first position in the field

At least 70% of students required to take the Praxis II Library Media Specialty area test will pass on their first attempt.

Of the 13 students who took the Praxis II Library Media Specialty area test from the fall of 2002-summer 2003, one student did not achieve a passing score until the second attempt for a 92% pass rate on the first attempt

The minimum score to pass was 610. Of the scores during this time period, 720 was the highest score and 590 was the lowest.  The student who did not pass the first time made a 660 on her second attempt.  Courses are being examined for possible realignment to Praxis professional knowledge areas.

Graduates will be competitive in the job market or in continuing their graduate education.

At least 90% of students who graduate from the instructional technology program will be employed or continuing their education within one year of graduation based upon program tracking of graduates.

There were 36 graduates of the program in 2002-03.  35 of the 36 are employed

We will continue to track our graduates in the US and ask that they notify us of any job changes, etc.

Graduates completing the graduate program will have completed a directed work experience in their field..

All graduates in the school library media component of the Instructional Technology graduate program will have completed a practicum before graduation.

The students did complete the practicum experience prior to graduation and were given a chance to evaluate the experience.

The practicum evaluations will be used in re-examining the experiences required during the practicum to make it a more rewarding experience for future enrollees
