Graduates will be able to plan and administrate a gifted program in consultation with teachers, administrators, and parents.

Graduates will be able to identify gifted learners.

Candidates will report a rating of 2.5 or better on appropriate items on Evaluations by Course Objectives for GTED 5003, GTED 6903, GTED 6873 and GTED 6883.

5003 – Not collected

6903 – 40% return; All objectives were rated 4 or above except for “Recognizing the vulnerability associated with the characteristics of gifted learners, ” and “Explaining the role of motivation in the development of the gifted.”   Under these objectives, participation on the discussion board, the research paper, the case study and the plan design were scored a 3 or 4 as valuable to achievement of the objective.

6873 – 0% return

6883 – 0% return

The attempt to gather data by course objectives failed to produce a sufficient number of responses for meaningful analysis.  Alternatives for collecting evaluation by objectives were discussed in peer review. WebSurveyor was used with 6903.  This was the only course that yielded a response.  It was decided to use WebSurveyor in the coming year to see if return will increase so that informed decisions can be made.

100% of candidates will satisfactorily complete course artifacts (=/>75%), specifically case studies and the mapping of current trends and issues in identification.

Criteria met.  Rubrics indicate candidates' performance is acceptable in the standards for additional licensure.   Range of scores on appropriate artifacts is passing and above.  All score are above 75%.

Rubrics have been refined for each artifact to more clearly verify and clarify candidates' performance in response to candidate feedback. Samples of candidate's work are kept on file for a five-year period.

Will continue to monitor.

100% of the graduates in gifted education will "agree" or "strongly agree" with statements on the Graduate Program Survey Questionnaire (Part I #6, 8; Part II #8; Part III #3, 6).

Results from the Graduate Program Survey Questionnaire not available at this time.

Survey results will be reviewed as soon as available.  All criteria will continue to be considered in program delivery decisions in the coming year.

100% of students will perform adequately on all criteria necessary for licensure.

Criteria met.  100% of students have satisfactorily completed a compliment of courses acceptable to State Department licensure.  Use of the developed Additional Licensure Plan (ALP) has been helpful in monitoring not only progress, but satisfactory completion of requirements.

Will continue to monitor, review and revise each course to better align with licensure evidences professional standards.  The courses offered have been reorganized into professional blocks for development of on-line options.  To date, only the additional licensure in teaching is offered.  Options for satisfying the “coordinator’s” license will be considered.
