Teachers are an integral part of our community touching the working lives of all members either directly or indirectly. Arkansas Tech is committed to the continuous improvement of our licensure programs in early childhood, middle childhood and secondary education. The improvement of our programs is dependent upon the gathering of accurate information about the quality of the teachers we produce. We have recently completed development of an assessment plan that, we believe, more effectively allows us to gather such information. This plan was collaboratively developed and now calls for the establishment of a collaborative task group for collaborative monitoring, dialogue and guidance in its implementation. The task group of representative stakeholders in the preparation of teachers will meet once each semester to receive information from and provide information to the school of education concerning the quality of teachers in our service area.
